Surrounded by his wife and children, John David passed away February 4th, 2023 at the age of 82. He was a beloved husband to Connie for 53 years, father, and grandfather.
Born in 1940 to Wanda and John Handley, John grew up in San Francisco, graduated from Willows High School, and attended San Francisco State College.
He served in the Navy for 4 years on an aircraft carrier flight deck during the Vietnam War.
After his Naval Service ended, he worked at McClellan Air Force Base repairing airplanes and retired after 35 years as the Avionics Division Chief. After Retirement, John went into real estate with his brother Noel David and enjoyed selling and buying homes for friends and loved ones. John was a man of service. He was a rotarian of the Citrus Heights Rotary Club, and a faithful member of the Celtic Cross Church in Citrus Heights for 48 years.
He loved all his family and friends deeply and went out of his way to make others feel at ease and loved. John was a great storyteller and also an incredible listener, and he never missed a moment to laugh. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife Connie, 3 children Jeff (Ivonne), Todd (Stephanie) , Anne (Ryan), 6 grandchildren, niece Michelle (Dave), nephew John (Kirsten), niece Bobbi Jo and many great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Celtic Cross Church Feb 25th. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s name can be given to Rotary Club of Citrus Heights or Celtic Cross Presbyterian Church in Citrus Heights.
