James Elliott Kinkel (Jim) entered his eternal rest into Heaven on December 22, 2018 at his home in Browns Valley, CA. He was 71 years old.
Jim was born August 6, 1947 in Grass Valley, CA to his parents Elliott and Margaret Kinkel. Jim is survived by his younger sister Teresa (Terri) Martinez, and his nieces, Kim Levine and Michelle O'Gorman.
Jim moved to Citrus Heights, CA with his family during his childhood where he lived for many years. As a child, Jim loved archery. During his teenage years, you could find him working on his car. Jim joined the United States Military in 1967 and proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam war. Jim had an honorable career with California Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer at Folsom State Prison. After retirement, Jim moved to Yuba City and eventually to his home in Browns Valley. Jim was an avid dog lover and History enthusiast. He enjoyed caring for his chickens, goats and many dogs over the years. He will be missed by many who will remember his love for animals, his family and his friends.
