Christina "Chris" Alice Kress

Christina Kress went joyfully into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 21, following a brief illness at the age of 84 years.

A native of New Carlisle, Ohio, Chris was a budget analyst for the Department of Defense at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and McClellan Air Force Base, retiring in 2001 after more than 30 years of service.

Chris was a founding member of East Parkway Church in Granite Bay, where she faithfully served a generation of their youngest members who will always remember her as “Grandma Chris”. She was instrumental in beginning the Women’s Bible Study in the Springfield Whitney Oaks community, where her spiritual leadership and friendship touched many lives through the years.

Chris will always be remembered with deep admiration and great affection by her husband of 62 years Carlon and their children, Tricia (Billy), Doug, Dale (Diane), sister Barbara, grandchildren Amanda (Ramsey), Charles (Barachel), Micah (Tiffany), Jennifer (Alfredo), Laura (Gaven), Joshua, Evan (Christina), Carol, Caleb, and 14 great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Chris will be held on Friday, August 3, at 11 a.m., at The Gables, Springfield at Whitney Oaks, 2801 Springfield Drive, Rocklin, with Chaplain (LTC) Billy Steen officiating.
