Steve Johnson loved to give things away. He was never happier than when he could hand out an unexpected gift to a stranger on the street. He gave freely of his time and effort to support anyone who needed him. He was a kind, loving friend with a giant heart and a big smile. He was smart, curious, and never stopped learning. He was a great teacher too – patient and encouraging. His bright light was taken from us on February 21, 2022 following a brief battle with kidney and liver disease.
Steve was a Navy brat, a scholar, and had a long career in the aerospace industry. He lived in and traveled to four continents. He was an accomplished player of the Native American flute, and the harmonica. His unfailing sense of humor was always present, even in difficult circumstances.
He is survived by his loving wife, and an extended group of family, friends and coworkers that are spread out all over the world. If you are one of them, please use this site to share your memories of Steve. Please feel free to share a story, post a picture, or give a virtual hug.
In lieu of a traditional memorial gathering, it was Steve’s wish that friends and family honor his memory by doing something to improve someone else’s life. He had strong faith in the power of simple kindness.
