One of their clients was Glacier Lanes in South Everett, another was the downtown Everett Theater where he used to say "he saw the ending of Star Wars at least 190 times." In 1987, Stephen met and married the love of his life, Jo-Ann Marie (Garnett) together they raised three beautiful daughters, Anna-Maria, Melissa and Terry-Dawn. As he was ending his career with EVCC, the love of teaching The Theocratic Ministry School in his local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, pushed him to pursue a career in education. 30 years after leaving high school he attained a Bachelor's Degree from Western Washington University Everett Campus. His 3.9 GPA at EVCC earned him a scholarship from the North Cascades in Olympic Science Partnership, to help pay for his education. Stephen was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and Pi Lambda Theta. With the downturn of the economy he began his career with the Boeing Aircraft Company, starting as an "in-tank wing mechanic" just as the 787 program was getting started, working on the first 50 planes. During the 10 years of his employment with Boeing he moved to the 777 program, and recently 777X program. Using his education he became a DALP/BPS Leader/Lean Practitioner/ Manufacturing Production Systems Analyst. He holds a Six Sigma Yellow Belt from the American Society for Quality. In August of this last year, he was awarded the Boeing Company Chairman's Award for Safety, which was presented to him in St. Louis, Missouri by Dennis Muilenburg the current Chairman of the Boeing Corporation.
