Rolan Becker's family is sad to announce on September 25th Rolan passed away after a 3 year battle with cancer. He was born is Phoenix, Az on January 13th, 1946. Soon after his family moved to Seattle. Growing up in Seattle included many summer trips to the family cabin on Lake Roesiger where he met his future wife Jessie. Rolan attended Shoreline High School from 1960-1964 and was a member of the high school football team. After graduating, he joined the Army and served from 1965 to 1967. He enjoyed traveling extensively during that time.
Rolan returned home to Washington in 1967 spending much of his free time mountain climbing in the Cascade Mountains, and scuba diving in the Puget Sound. Eventually, he bought property on Obstruction Island which led him to many family camping adventures. In his late 30's Rolan purchased Becker Trucking which he ran until his retirement in 2016.
Rolan is survived by his wife, four children, and eight grandchildren. His biggest pleasure in life was his family. His second pleasure was his boat the Sugar B. He and his wife used the boat for family vacations to the San Juans. Rolan will be remembered by all who knew him for his sense of humor and generosity. Rolan is missed very much.
