He was raised in Missoula, Montana and schooled in Montana and Washington States. He proudly served his country as a Tech/Sgt. in the US Marine Corps from 1942-1945. He served in the Pacific Theatre for 1 1/2 years at Midway and in the Marshall Islands, during World War II, with the Fighter Squadron, VMF-155. He was a long time active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Everett, WA, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Everett Knights of Columbus 3rd & 4th degree, of which he was past Faithful Navigator, past member of the Everett Chamber of Commerce, life member of the Everett Elks Club, American Legion, Marine Corps Aviation Association, WW II Memorial Association and one of the founders of the Consumer's Credit Counseling Program in Everett. He was a proud member of the 10 Gallon blood donor Club. Bob was employed with the Snohomish County PUD and its Everett predecessor, Puget Sound Power & Light for over 34 years; he retired in 1980. He then partnered with his wife, Ruth in "LaGrandeur's Stone Enterprises", a successful jewelry business, for another 25 years. For an additional 5 years, he assisted his son with video productions. Bob met Ruth at the end of the war. They celebrated 61 beautiful years of marriage and life together. They really enjoyed their family, church activities, square dancing, extensive world travels, entertaining, and gardening. In addition, Bob found it very rewarding getting together with his Fighter Squadron, VMF-155 over the last two decades, and serving on the reunion committee.
