Jody (Nancy) was one of the gentlest persons I have known. We saw each other at family gatherings and always shared stories about our Ragdoll cats. When she was in the hospital, I would visit her and she told me to please take care of her kitty. And it came to pass that Jody entered the gates of heaven and Ragdoll Anabel came to live with me. At age 16, she moved slowly with the sting of arthritis. She snores like a trucker and she is fearful of the other cats, but she accepts my Ragamuffin (like a Ragdoll).  She is one of the most loving kitties I have known. The photo is of my two cats. Lillie is in the front and Anabel is the the back with her legs crossed like the lady she is. The love she received from Jody lives on in this gentle soul. 

Doesn’t seem like a year has passed since sissy went home. Miss her every day & so happy for my memories I have . Always loving you my sissy💗

We met at work.  One lunch date and then it was every day after that. Picnics at the park, going out...etc...and there we were, over 25 years later. What a wonderful friendship we have.  The laughter, oh my gosh did we laugh. It was so great  then you moved right next door to me.  Good times. We were more than friends, we were family. The best of times. I think of you every day,  I will forever love you and I will keep you in my heart always.....see you later 💕....Leslie 

When I was a little girl, my Aunt "Jody", as I knew her was the sweetest and most beautiful woman to me.

She and Uncle Roy came to visit me in Overland Park, Kansas and I went to visit them, when I was nine. That was 50 years ago, but I still have the genuine ivory elephant earrings they bought me at Disney Land.

Rest in peace, Aunt Jody. God Bless you and your family!

Our hearts are broken knowing that we will not be able to hear your voice or make new memories as we have for the past 48 years. Such beautiful memories you have left in our hearts and minds and for that we feel blessed. 

But this we know we will meet again and even though your physical body has returned to the earth you my friend still lives on spiritually no longer dealing with the burdens of this earthly life.,

Jody was one of the sweetest friends I grew up with. We went through  elementary school, Camp Fire Girls, Ponytail League Softball, ad junior and senior high school together. It was wonderful reconnecting through FB and seeing each other at our and Candy’s reunions. She remained so positive during her illness and was an inspiration. Rest In Peace dear Jody. ❤️

My childhood memories are filled with joy of Jody Prather.  As my first friend on Niagara Street,we grew up going back and forth to each other’s homes and up and down the street. 
We played games in the street and put on plays for our parents in a garage . 
We helped Jody’s father wash his Red Fairlane 500 . Then he would take us for a Sunday ride.  Sometimes to Hollywood. 
It was such a wonderful time, walking  to Brett Harte and Luther Burbank. 
  We took baton lessons together.  
Always a joy .... always a sweet friend.

I always knew Nancy as Jody! We had such fun times in high school and in Fifinellas She was prez and I was V P! We organized the annual spring break together to Laguna. A few years ago we connected and met for lunch.

  My second mom, mentor, teacher of life! You were my first adult influencer outside of my parents I wasn’t even a teenager when I met you.  Teaching me to “shift” in your pinto, raiding your closet, talking about the Bible, learning to cook, women’s group, church dances, and so many more. You entrusted your three babies to me Candice my first chance to love an infant and begin to learn to be a mother. Jeffrey a rambunctious 3 year old and Chris, a quiet and curios little boy adding calm to the mix. I could, and did, walk across the street anytime I wanted or needed to and your door was always open. You loved me and I loved you through my first love, your first loss and so much more. Thank you for your spirit and joyful laugh always! We lost touch when I left home but you never left my heart or my memories. Rest now sweet Jodi in gods arms!

Nancy was always so kind and warm and always gave the BEST hugs. She was always such an amazing supportive person to Shane and I! She is missed so very much!!! We love you, Nancy. 

From the day mommy & daddy brought you home til the day I last spoke to you on a phone through a window I’ve always loved you more! So many great memories we made. Sunday night family dinners & visits to 31 Flavors after; you, Candy & Billy playing hit the bat in the middle of the street while I watched for cars; your brown bedroom which we just laughed about recently; our sister trips to Hawaii & Morro Bay...you really loved those elephant seals. What wonderful times we had together my sissy, I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world because I did them with you. 💗


I can say is she has left an impact on many lives being the strong woman she was through her life! She raised her children with so much love..
May her spirit live on within all of you!
