Lesalie Ann was born June 30, 1947 in Billings, Montana. She is the daughter of Robert and Lenore Palmer, one of five children. Lesalie grew up in Powell, Wyoming and graduated from Powell High School in 1965. She attended Northwest Community College and the University of Wyoming working toward a degree in Social Work. Lesalie met Douglas Gene Franzen at a barn dance in the summer of 1966, in Powell, Wyoming. It was a magnetic attraction from the very beginning and the two married in Laramie, Wyoming on August 30 1969. They remained in Laramie till Doug graduated. The couple moved to California, Utah and Washington following Doug’s work. This August, they celebrated 55 years of marriage in Red Lodge, Montana.
To their union, two children were born, Laurie Ann and Derek Gene. When she was “cookie mom” for Laurie’s Girl Scout troop, their troop sold the most, and nominated as Team Mom for Dereks Little league baseball team. She taught Derek to read before he entered kindergarten.
Lesalie loved being outside, watching and identifying the birds, feeding the squirrels and chipmunks and watching the hummingbirds and butterflies. Their patio is always graced with beautiful flowers.
She and Doug went for many drives around Washington and often drove to Red Lodge, Montana to spend time with family. Her signature shrimp salad was a hit! Lesalie loved card games and especially Yahtzee. Watching football and baseball, especially the Washington teams, was a favorite pastime. Lesalie finished Jumbles every day never needing to use a pencil!
Lesalie is survived by her husband Doug, daughter, Laurie (Jones) and grandsons, Nolan and Sawyer, sisters, Perrie Kay and Cindy, brother Rob and numerous nieces and nephews. she is preceded by her parents, son Derek, and her sister Pennie Sue.
There will be no service, a viewing will be held September 18th from 3-7 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett, Washington.
