Born to Jessie Mae (Hollenback) and Reuben K. Engle in Hope, Kansas she was preceded in death by siblings Irene 1927, Vern (Zena) 1998, Alvin 1955 and Orville (Peggy) 2001.
Mom was a progressive woman who left her farm home and went to Wichita at the age of 18 to attend Business College. She then went to work at Standard Oil. She gave up her career to marry Cleo Hall in 1942 and devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. Dad went in the Navy in 1943 and Mom took a bus to California to be near him. Then she returned to the farm and her folks where David was born in 1945. Dad was discharged in December 1945 when David was 11 months old. Darryl came along in 1948 and Arlene in 1952. Mom loved her husband and they were married for over 56 years when Dad passed in 1998.
She was the greatest mother and grandmother. She set examples of love, acceptance, honesty and integrity.
Her motto was to try to accomplish something every day. At the age of 40 she began painting and became an accomplished artist. We are all blessed with her amazing artwork.
Our hearts are broken that we no longer have our beloved mother and grandmother with us physically but s he will forever live on through us.
Mom,
You were an angel in life and now you are an angel wrapped in God’s arms forever looking over us.
Thanks for being our special mother angel.
