Robert "Bob" Schmitt

Bob retired from General Electric in Mt. Vernon, Indiana where he worked for many years. He loved playing poker, crossword puzzles, and poker games on the computer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Carrie (Koch) Schmitt; sister, Mary Rose Parady; and two brothers, Leo and Raymond Schmitt.

Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carolyn Schmitt; sons, Robert K. “Rob” Schmitt and Randy Schmitt; daughter, Robin Schmitt; step-sons, Carl Anthony Reisinger and Clay Allen Reisinger; grandchildren, Amber Nicole Reuter and Logan James Schmitt (Kaylie); great grandchildren, Braelyn Schmitt and Brody Schmitt; sisters, Carolyn Mueller and Betty Froehle; brothers, Fred Schmitt, Charles Schmitt and Jim Schmitt; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh Humane Society.
