Patricia A. Smith

Patricia Ann (Butsch) Smith, 91, of Evansville passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at West River Health Campus. She was born on January 8, 1931 in Evansville, IN to the late William and Louise (Kuester) Butsch. Patricia (Pat) attended Trinity Lutheran grade school and graduated from the old Central High School in 1948. She worked in the office at Faultless Caster for ten years and Crescent Plastics for ten years. Pat was a faithful member of Oak Hill Bible Fellowship. She enjoyed reading mysteries, crossword puzzles, sewing, crocheting and cross-stitching. Pat loved to travel and had traveled to all 50 states, Canada and Europe. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of almost 70 years, David L. Smith who recently passed on April 16, 2022; her 2 sons, Mark Smith and Doug Smith and her brother, Billy Butsch. Pat is survived by her daughter, Janet Burnett (Darren); granddaughters, Crystal Smith and Valerie Terrell (Josh); great granddaughter, Zoey Smith; sister, Bette Spray; nieces, Patti Steele (Scott), Donna Spray, Jennifer Flores (Martin); sister-in-law, Sherry Butsch and daughter-in-law, Karen Smith. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Alexander North Chapel officiated by Rev. Eric Rawdon. Burial will follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 2:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at the funeral home. The family would like to give a very special thank you and appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at West River Health Campus and to St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville for all of their wonderful care and support.
