Mary J Reed

She was raised in Mt. Vernon, OH and graduated from the Mt. Carmel School of Nursing, a sister branch of Notre Dame at Ohio State. She married her loving husband John in June 22, 1951 and raised five spirited children. They moved to Indiana in 1954. Mary Jane enjoyed playing bridge with friends, leading Girl Scouts, attending sports car rallies, and boating. She obtained a private flying license in 1989 and flew a Cessna 172, often taking her family for rides. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Eastern Star, and was a past member of Old North Church. She also enjoyed nature, horticulture, and jigsaw puzzles.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Reed, and brother, John Kilroy.

She is survived by children, Steve (Debbie) Reed, Carol (Stan) Lannert, Jennifer Rueger, Claudia (Keith) Titzer, and Leslie (Don) Lindauer; grandchildren, John (Stacy) Cobb, Erin Briody (Andy) Grampp, Laura Rueger (Joe) Sitzman, Jeslyn Horstketter (Marc) Schiele , Daniel (Jamie) Titzer, Ryan (Leah) Titzer, and Shelby Reed; nieces, Marcia Kilroy (Tim) Starr, and Diane; nephews, Dick and David, and sister, Mildred Douglas Pidwell.

Funeral Services will be 1:00PM, Friday, February 10, 2017 at Alexander Memorial Park Heritage Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, officiated by Rev. Steve Boardman, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 11:00AM until service time at the chapel.
