Irene M Gibson Jones

Irene was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #87, Robert Morris Chapter. She was Past Guardian Jobs Daughter Bethel #26.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Irene retired from the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, after 20+ years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Jones in 1986; son, Kenneth Steven Jones; parents, Andrew and Verbal Gibson; brothers, Charlie, Chestley, and Pat Gibson; and sisters, Reva Gibson and Joyce Bridwell.

She is survived by her son, Richard Jones of Galveston, IN; daughter Pamela Majors of Newburgh, IN; grandchildren, Mayghan and Anthony Majors; great grandchildren, Hannah Irene, Noel and Korbn’; brothers, Aubrey Gibson of Henderson, KY and J.B. Gibson of Elkhart, IN.

Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Keith Griffin with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
