Helen B. Schaefer

Helen B. Schaefer, 88, passed away March 12, 2015, surrounded by family at Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville, IN, after a long battle with cancer. She was born January 13, 1927, to the late William and Myrtle (Beasley) White.

Helen graduated from Reitz High School in 1946. She was a member of Harwood Baptist Church. She worked at Conrad Corporation for several years. Helen’s family was always a priority and she loved having them around. She loved to travel and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Anthony Joseph Schaefer in 2000. They were married July 20, 1946. She was also preceded by her sister, Dorothy Stoneberger.

Helen is survived by her two sons, Anthony Schaefer (Beverly) and Warren Schaefer (Vickie) and her brother, Bob White. She will be greatly missed by grandchildren, Theresa Maddix, Michelle Monchamp, Yvonne Harrison, Bryan Schaefer, Tiffany Oglesby and Christopher Schaefer. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She will be remembered by many other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Alexander West Chapel in Evansville, IN, officiated by Rev. Karl Crowe, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
