She was born January 11, 1908, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Karl and Karoline (Paschowski) Schulz.
Emma retired as the Group Chief Operator at Indiana Bell after 32 years of service. She was a member of the Hoosier Pioneers and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she was past treasurer and in the Presbyterian Women’s Group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Verner Bump; daughter, Sylvia Strong; step-son, Stanley Bump; sister, Margaret Nichols; and brothers, Carl and Emil Schulz.
Emma is survived by her nieces, Marilyn Jones, Eleanor Werner, and Donna Stanifer; nephews, Melvin Cox and Bud Tyler; and step-grandsons, Bo, Steve, Keith, and Dan Bump.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM, Friday, June 23, 2017, at Alexander North Chapel officiated by Rev. Tom Hubachek, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit 9:30 AM until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
