Dorothy May Horn, 88, of Evansville, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013, at Embracing Hospice in Snellville, GA. She was born April 14, 1924, in Sullivan, IL.
She and Al owned and operated the first two Ponderosa Steak Houses in Evansville. She loved to grow roses and was very fond of her small dog.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Major Alfred “Al” Lee Horn; two brothers, Johnny and Finis Selock; and sister, June Augustine.
She is survived by her daughters, Penny Briel (Charles) of Indianapolis, IN and Dixie Lee Wilson (Thomas) of Lawrenceville, GA; granddaughter, Natasha Wheeler of Boston, MA; grandsons, Alex and Kennedy Rose and Paul and Shane Scott; granddaughter, Natosha Googer; many great-grandchildren; and sisters, Francis Rose (Alan) of Chicago, IL and Marilyn Yeakel (Joe) of Sullivan, IL.
