Charles T. Luecke, Jr., 73, of Evansville passed away Saturday August 20, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born January 15, 1949 in Tell City to the late Charles and Augusta (Schneider) Luecke. Charles served in the US Naval Reserve on the USS Satyr (Arl 23) from 1970-1971 in the Republic of Vietnam. He was third class engineman and maintained small combat boats on the Mekong River. He volunteered and was a tour guide for the LST 325 stationed in Evansville, IN and was an active member of Southern Indiana Democracy for America. Charles loved trains, and enjoyed walking his dog, Sport, on the railroad tracks. He enjoyed studying and writing about other countries constitutions and loved the Appalachian mountains. Charles married his wife of 46 years, Cynthia (Judd) Luecke on February 14, 1976. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Neal Luecke. Charles is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Judd) Luecke; son, David River Luecke (Laura); grandson, Reed Charles Luecke; sister, Janet Beem (Randy); brothers, Duane Luecke (Desiree) and Mark Luecke (Teri); mother in law, Mary Jane Judd; several nieces, nephews that he loved dearly; and brother in laws and sister in laws, Bill Judd (Donna), Jerry Judd (Edie), Becky Day, Theresa Hein and Tim Judd (Kim). A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday August 27, 2022 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Pastor Tim Judd, with entombment to follow in Alexander Memorial Park, where military honors will be conducted. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Jaci, Lauren, and Stephanie with Heart to Heart Hospice for their wonderful care.
