Robert B Noel

peacefully on July 6, 2023 surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He

leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering devotion that will forever remain

etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Bob was born on November 15, 1956 to Robert J Noel and Mary (née Badi) Noel. He

has one surviving sister, Barbara McGovern and was predeceased by siblings Diane

Leonard, David Noel and Gordon Noel. He leaves behind his sisters in law, Lisa Lott,

Michele (Tim) LaPorta, Jolene (Arseen) Soliman and Ann (Bob) Black.

During his educational years, Bob was well liked and his sense of humor was

infectious. He was voted Athlete of the Year and was also promoted to Prom King both

his Junior and Senior Year of High School.

Within his community Bob was an influential figure. He was a compassionate listener,

offering guidance and support to all who sought it. In the 1990’s he was President of

the Rensselaer Little League Association, was involved with the Boys and Girls Club

and was a significant role model to many kids within the community.

His wisdom made him a trusted confidant and well respected in his field. After

working in the Pump and Tank Industry, he helped establish the company

Environmental and Fueling Systems with Peter Marx, Marc Miller and Staff. After 19

years he retired leaving behind important notable projects in the works like a new

K-12 school and the River Front Project for the community along with Jeff West.

Bob leaves behind the love of his life, with whom he built a strong foundation based

on love, trust and unconditional support, his wife of 45 years, Wendy Noel.

As a father Bob was a pillar of strength and guidance, and he instilled in his children

the values of hard work, compassion, integrity and perseverance. He was a constant

source of encouragement, supporting them in their endeavors and celebrating their

many achievements. He leaves behind Robert (Alicia) Noel Jr, Kristine Noel, and

Nicholas Noel. He was predeceased by his son Brian Henry Noel.

Grandfatherhood brought a new level of joy and fulfillment to Bob’s life. To him

grandchildren were a gift from above, one to cherish and one to love. His

grandchildren Aiden Eddy, Ava and Bobby Jr. And Amelia Noel, Kamryn (Christian)

Campisi and Adrian (Scott) Carey lit up his world and were his greatest delight. He

showered them with affection, creating memories that will be forever cherished.

He is also survived by many special nieces and nephews and great nieces and

nephews.

After retiring in 2018, he and his wife Wendy relocated to Rotonda West, Florida and

he became an avid golfer, securing his Hole in One on May 14, 2019 and eventually

working for the Rotonda Golf and Country Club right up until his passing. Bob made

several warm friendships with those he worked with at WalMart and other special

friends and neighbors. In addition to golf Bob loved horse racing, watching the

Dodgers play, and above all spending time with and being surrounded by his family.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Bob will be held on July 22nd,

from 11-3 at Wm. J Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Turnpike in Rensselaer.

Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their final respects. Following the

service a reception will be held at Kris’ Mid City Tavern, 327 Broadway, Menands, NY

to share memories and celebrate a beautiful life that was lived.

In lieu of flowers, we humbly ask for donations towards the significant costs of Bob’s

medical and memorial expenses. Any remaining funds will be donated to his chosen

charity, Wounded Warriors.
