He was born August 4, 1930 in Jamestown, NY. Cliff spent his early years in Chautauqua, NY before moving to Englewood. He graduated from Chautauqua Central School and became an entrepreneur.
Over the years he owned a grocery store, an apartment house, a campground (which he built) and a pack/ship store. He was a truck driver, a school bus driver, a bee-keeper, a builder, and a realtor. His favorite profession was driving the escort truck for oversize loads. He was a volunteer fireman in the Chautauqua Fire Department and volunteered in other community activities no matter where he lived.
He married Marceline Kay Moseman January 7, 1949 and spent 75 years with her. The family grew to include two daughters, Linda and Diana, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. His survivors also include 1 brother and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, 1 brother, 1 sister, and 1 granddaughter.
Cliff and Kay enjoyed traveling all of the lower United States, 5 driving trips to Alaska, and some overseas travels. He was an avid reader and loved to share stories of their trips.
There will be a Celebration of Life March 16 at 10am in the Doan Chapel of the Englewood Methodist Church, 700 East Dearborn St., Englewood, A time of sharing memories with family and friends will follow the service.
