Encinitas - Thomas Davidson Elliott, Jr. (Tom) was born on October 15, 1943 in Glendale, CA and grew up throughout Southern California. He graduated with a degree in Accounting from the University of Southern California in 1966, married his college sweetheart, Nancy in 1967 and soon after settled in North San Diego county. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam in the US Army. He spent the last 50 years residing in San Diego enjoying life with his wife Nancy, their 4 kids, and grandchildren. Tom was a loved and loving husband and best friend to his wife Nancy for 53 years.
Tom always loved to have a good time, with whomever he was with, including going to the beach, deep sea fishing, camping with his family, going on cruises with his wife and spending time with family and friends. He and his love and desire to have fun will always be missed.
Tom was devoted to Jesus, Mary and His Catholic Church, and in recent years attended daily Mass.
He was a successful businessman as a builder and developer, and had a health and life insurance sales business, among other entrepreneurial efforts. Volunteer work was very important to Tom with his active participation in Rotary and Nazareth Orphanage in Tecate, Mexico.
Tom had a minimally invasive heart procedure on September 2nd where there were complications following the surgery. Tom passed away peacefully early in the morning on September 7th with his wife by his side. Nancy, his kids and grandkids were able to be with him from the time the complications arose after the surgery until he passed away.
Tom’s funeral Mass was held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. He is buried at Miramar National Cemetery.
Tom is survived by his wife Nancy, their four children, multiple grandchildren and two sisters.
