I first met Maria in 2003 when interning at the hospital. When I became a per diem like her, she continued to show me the ropes. Later, Supervising her was a dream. She made it so easy! Maria always had a beautiful way of balancing priorities with humor, with seeing the person in front of her as just that-a person; not a diagnosis. I admired her energy, intention, and love. She raised my spirits and got me to smile every time I saw her. Thank you Maria. See you again in the next life. 💜

I had the pleasure to work with Maria when I was bumped to a different school and into the new unfamiliar/difficult job duties & responsibilities and challenging learning curve.  During the transition, there were a few fellow staff/faculty members that brought light.   Maria was one of those people, when I needed support,  she was so approachable because she was always kind and helpful.   She reminded me of my late sister, in so many ways--her personality, her energy, etc.    I am truly sorry to hear of her passing.    My sincerest condolences to the family.  You have been and will continue to be in my prayers. 

I am honored to have known Maria for almost 10 years through our time working at the hospital as social workers. Her laughter will always resonate in my ears, her kindness, down to earth presence, and love will remain in my heart. I will miss her dearly. My condolences to her family. Maria’s spirit and energy lives on.

Oh Maria I Love you and will always remember the laughter , camping trips and memories of our time working together . I hope you are having a ball in heaven !💋

I knew Maria primarily through our mutual friend Suzanne butcalso as a social work field instructor for SDSU. Maria was the heart of generosity and kindness.  She demonstrared her love of friends  and family by acts of kindness. She worked a second job at Sharp Mesa Vista for 27 years and was a valued worker and friend wirh great clinical skill. She will be missed.

Maria was a colleague of mine and someone I always looked forward working with on the weekends. Her presence would lend much warmth and positivity to the day.  Maria had an amazing sense of humor and naturally  made others feel instantly comfortable. I know Maria would always provide a listening year and a genuine warm smile.  Maria was so giving and even provided an open invitation to her home for dinner. She cared a lot about the patients she worked with and had an innate gift to find connection with others. She will be truly missed by her Sharp family.

Our beautiful and caring niece Maria suddenly went to heaven.  I am at a lost of words.  She was so loving and caring.  She was so loved by her family. I love you Maria so much and remember the day you were born.  My sister, your Mom called me after she gave birth to you and she said, Ro you have a niece and I named her Maria Rose.  I was so happy and I watched you grow up and was so proud of the kind of person you became.  I will love you forever and remember our times together.  You are now at home with your Mom and Dad, and Grandma and Grandpa.  Until we meet again, you will always have a place in my heart.  Love you, Auntie Ro and Uncle Marino.
 

My heart is broken.  I cannot believe you are gone.  I miss you so much.  Rest in peace my dear best friend.
