Kenneth Thornton Mitchell Jr.

Kenneth Thornton Mitchell Jr., age 73, of Ellenton, Florida passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Kenneth was born May 9, 1948 at Chelsea Naval Hospital in Chelsea, MA to Kenneth Thornton Mitchell Sr. and Elline Ouellette. He graduated from Lynn Classical High School class of 1965. Kenneth served in the US Marine Corps from August 1967 - August 1970 as a Lance Corporal; he was also a pitcher for the baseball team.

Kenneth was the captain of the golf team at Lynn Classical High School, and was an all around machinist, as well as a helicopter engine inspector for General Electric in Lynn, MA. He was a member of the VFW, Moose Lodge, and DAV. His hobbies included golf, football, basketball, and baseball. He loved all New England sports teams!

Survivors include his daughter, Mary Mitchell; grandchildren, Athanasia Ohrtmann and Siobhan Mitchell, brothers, Scott Mitchell and Steve Mitchell; sister, Bonnie Cortez; their spouses; many nieces and nephews; and friends, Daniel Darcy of Georgetown, MA and Kathy Henry of Parrish, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Thornton Mitchell, Sr. and Elline Ouellette.
