Kay was born January 2, 1942 to Daniel Mora and Elsie Schroeder Mora. She attended Manatee High School. She was married to Wayne Lundy from 1960 to 1972 and is survived by three children: Derek Lundy (Tina Glisson Lundy), Jeff Lundy (Melinda Moran Lundy), and Felicia Lundy; 4 grandchildren: Kaleigh Lundy Hall (David Hall), James Loggins, Garrett Lundy, and Josh Lundy; and 2 great-grandchildren: Layne Hall and Claire Hall. She also leaves behind a sister, Rita Mora Jordan. Kay was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Carl (Trigger) Mora.
Kay was a native Floridian and Manatee County treasure who grew up in Cortez, lived in Parrish, and later settled in Palmetto. She attended Church of Christ and was a member of the Parrish Methodist Church. Kay spent most of her life as a master beautician in Cosmetology, owning her own businesses. She built personal rapport as she made countless people in the community look and feel beautiful. As she primped and pampered, she intently listened and gave counsel but also took advantage of every opportunity to brag on her family, sharing a range of recent happenings supported by a collection of pictures.
Kay was a strong, willfully independent woman who had an adventurous soul. She loved being outdoors and taking long walks in the morning with her beloved dog. Kay especially loved the beach, being on the water, and the serenity of sailing. She enjoyed the experiences and adventures of national and international travel and appreciated the grand landscapes of nature. But she also found great joy and harmony in gardening and meticulously attending to her well-manicured yard.
Kay had a servant heart and lived life with purpose. Her highest priority was quality time with family and friends. She was affectionately known by many names: Mom, Mama Kay, Grandma Kay, Kiki, Seester, Aunt Kay, Ms. Kay. The love and devotion given to each role greatly impacted the lives of her devoted family and adoring friends. Kay leaves a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will never pass away.
