Joyce F. Kelley Mueller

She will be remembered as a loving wife, a wonderful mother, and a very proud grandmother. Joyce was born on January 27, 1951 in Mitchell, South Dakota. She was the second of three children to Wayne and Dorothy Kelley. Joyce married Steve Mueller in 1973 and lived in various places across the Midwest and Florida until she moved to Parrish in 2007.

She was employed as a math teacher at Johnson Middle School in Bradenton. Joyce was admired by both her students and fellow teachers for the sincere love and devotion that she expressed for teaching. She taught not only the skills to learn, but the skills required for each and every one of her students to succeed in life and how to fulfill their dreams. In her free time, Joyce enjoyed reading books, working on puzzles, spoiling her dogs, and spending time with her family, especially her grandsons.

She is survived by her best friend and husband of 37 years, Steve, two sons, Jason (Jennifer) Mueller of Babson Park, Florida and John (Julie) Mueller of Parrish, sister Janet Kelley of Ellenton, brother Curt (Kim) Kelley of LaJunta, Colorado, and two grandsons, Jared and Kyle Mueller of Babson Park.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Mansion Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1400 36th Avenue East, Ellenton, FL 34222. A funeral mass will be celebrated in honor of Joyce's life on Saturday, October 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM Saint Francis Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church, 12001 69th Street East, Parrish, FL 34219. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Joyce Mueller's name to American Cancer Society.
