Born on December 7, 1943 in Brooklyn New York, Margie was one of four children; beloved sister to Kathy Zeh, James Flannery and the late Brian Flannery. In 1967 she married Anthony Marino and they enjoyed 17 years together. Widowed at age 40, Margie was a single mother of two teenage girls, aided by her extended family and close friends. Serving as a nurse for many years, Margie later worked for the National Security Agency.
After surviving a 2003 battle with breast cancer, she was diagnosed in September 2012 with Stage Four lung cancer. Choosing to fight once again, Margie miraculously enjoyed an 11 month remission before the cancer’s return in October 2013. Despite various chemotherapy treatments, Margie lost her struggle on March 13, 2014 joining heaven from a peaceful sleep the night before she was scheduled to be discharged home from Gilchrist Hospice in Columbia, Maryland.
She is survived by her daughters Gerri Nichols and Joanne DiMaggio, her sons-in- law Steve and Dennis, and her six treasured grandchildren Jenna, Natalie, Philip, Catherine, Daniel, and Julia.
