Jeremy N. Woodworth, age 52, of Woodlawn, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. Jeremy's journey through life was marked by a deep passion for an array of interests, ranging from history and religion to music, movies, acting, football, collectibles, and a good bargain. His enthusiasm was infectious, and when he found something he loved, he immersed himself in it, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A true polymath, Jeremy's knowledge spanned across diverse subjects, and his genuine curiosity allowed him to strike up conversations with strangers and effortlessly turn them into friends. He possessed a remarkable sense of humor, taking immense joy in making others laugh. His spontaneous visits to comedy clubs, where he'd showcase his unique characters like Benny, Vietnam Tom, or simply Jeremy being Jeremy, left audiences in stitches.
Music was a constant source of joy for Jeremy. When Jeremy wasn't listening to music, he was playing It or creating it. Oh, to see the joy on his face when he heard one of his songs playing on the air. "Oh, honey, that was awful". "Yeah, I know", followed by his unique laugh and heart warming grin. His compositions often accompanied the weekly podcast, Quality Time, a creative venture he embarked on with his brother Erik. Jeremy's satirical melodies became a signature element of their movie reviews, reflecting his playful spirit.
A cinephile at heart, Jeremy's love for movies spanned from B-movies to blockbusters. He relished meeting actors and talking shop. Ask him, he'd tell you all about being an extra on Ladder 49. He became a regular at movie conventions like Chiller Theatre and Monster Mania. In October of 2010, he attended Chiller Theatre in a specially homemade costume – Pogo the clown. Who knew that one homemade costume would present so many opportunities in the years to come! He became so popular at the conventions that he was listed a featured guest on their websites. Everyone loved Pogo. Pogo, a character he brought to life with a unique smile, a crooked hand wave, an energetic voice, and an exuberant laugh, Jeremy became a beloved figure at these gatherings. His popularity soared, and he went on to create movies such as "Pogo" and "The Pogo Experience." In 2019, he received the NJ Horror Con's award for Best New Actor for his role in "The Killer Clown Meets the Candyman."
Jeremy embraced life with gusto, living each day to the fullest. His caring, compassionate, and charismatic nature endeared him to all who knew him. Honest and true to his convictions, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met, and they were many.
Jeremy is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Michelle (Phillips), his mother Lynda (Reber), his brother Erik (Tracy Taylor), sisters Rachel Barber (Tom) and Amelia Williams (Todd), nieces Jane and Susie, nephew Bishop, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Peter, and best friend and cousin, Jared Barlow.
