Maureen A. Casey

Maureen Ann Casey, age 81, of Elk Rapids. Passed into eternal life on June 18th. Pre-deceased by her husband Edward, and her parents Bernard and Harriet Clinton. She is survived by her sister Joanna (Larry) Rickfelder and by Bill and Kay Casey.

Also surviving are her children Daniel (Dawn), Michael, Mary Jo (Ken) Dietrich, Reverend Patrick, and Joseph (Catherine), her grandchildren Patrick (Jennifer), Megan, Tara, Maura, and Matthew, and a brand new great-granddaughter McKenna.

Maureen was born and raised in Royal Oak, and raised her family in Waterford. She will be remembered for her heroic witness of hospitality. Ice skating parties on Sylvan Lake, bon fires at Rondeau Park, cocktail parties at Ft. Myers Beach, and card parties in Elk Rapids.

Arrangements are with the Covell Funeral Home, 312 Pine Street in Elk Rapids. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 20 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9, with a Scripture Service at 7, at Covell Funeral Home. Come and share your memories of Maureen. Funny, profound, inappropriate, true, not-so-true and loving stories are welcome and encouraged. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 143 Charles Street in Elk Rapids on Friday, June 21 at 10 am, with visitation at the church beginning at 9. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial tributes to the Elk Rapids Community Cupboard.
