David John Piper

David was a member of the National Guard, served as a Clawson Police Officer, and retired from General Motors Tech Center. He was a devoted husband, treasured friend, and faith-filled man. He will be missed dearly by all his family & friends.

David leaves behind his best friend and wife of 54 years, Donna Piper; his loving children, Dana (Michael) Vanderhoff, Doreen Smith, and Dean Piper; and grandchildren, Nicole (Jason) Grashik, Kyle Vanderhoff, Jamie (fiancé Zachery Kneisler) Vanderhoff, Sophia Smith and Molly Smith.

He is preceded by his parents, William and Ruth Piper; brother, Ronald Piper; and grandson Jack Smith.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 29th, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Elk Rapids, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
