Kelvin was born on March 29th, 1963, in Muenchweiler, Germany, to the late William Frank and Mildred Begley Burns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan Judith Pfeiffer Burns; brother-in-law, Bill Wheeler; and a nephew, Elijah Wheeler.
“Anyone who met our brother would always say ‘He's a good man’. Our 6'2" gentle giant earned the ironic nickname of ‘Killer’ by his friends. Kelvin wasn't a talker but he would sneak in little zingers just like his father used to. He never said a bad word about anyone. He accepted you just as you were. He smiled through cancer and through heart disease. Every nurse in the cardiac unit knew and loved Kelvin. Our brother knew he would be in Heaven one day. He said, ‘I want to go down swinging,’ and we say, ‘You did well brother.’”
He is survived by his sisters, Karon Wheeler, Jolene Eicher (Fred), Linda Burns; aunts, Juanita Wilson and Margaret Tharpe; brother-in-law, Ed Pfeiffer (Grace); he was also blessed with several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and pets.
A Funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 10th, 12:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, 306 College Street, Elizabethtown, KY 42701, with Mike Wheeler to officiate and serving as pallbearers will be Greg Hardy, Mitch Looney, Ralph DuVal, David D. Wheeler, David F. Wheeler, and Mark Hardin. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday night from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
