Marvin Wieman

Marvin was a “jack of all trades” and worked at many diverse types of jobs over his lifetime. These included heavy machine operator, service station employee, wrecker driver, factory line worker, over-the-road trucker, construction worker, cable line installer, new car sales associate, and security guard.

He was a lifetime member of the NRA and enjoyed supporting his 2nd Amendment rights.

He loved square-dancing and was a member and former President of the Hardin County Fair Squares, a recreational square-dancing organization. He also loved country and western music. One of his favorite artists was Hank Williams Sr, and his sons remember him singing his songs when he would take them on overnight fishing trips.

There was not much that he enjoyed more than “puffing on a cigar” while sipping a glass of bourbon. He and his brother, Earl, spent many a night solving the world’s problems (or at least talking about them!) while doing this. He mixed hobby and vocation by working as a security guard for Jim Beam until the age of 77 years old.

Marvin had more facts and figures about firearms and reloading memorized than anyone you will likely meet! And he loved to read and talk about firearms.

His love of bourbon, cigars, and firearms was only surpassed by the love for his family. He was immensely proud of his two sons and their families and talked about them frequently.

He is preceded in death by his father, Edwin Wieman and his mother, Sunshine Youman Wieman; brothers Lenin Wieman and Jerry Wieman; and sister Edwina Peterson.

Survivors include his two sons, Robert Alan Wieman and his wife, Ary Wieman of Riverside, CA; Timothy Marvin Wieman and his wife Ann Wieman of Lake Saint Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Faith Esperanza Wieman of Mechanicsburg, PA; Jonathan David Wieman of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Max Evan Wieman of Lake Saint Louis, MO; one brother, Earl Wieman and his wife Jenny Wieman of Elizabethtown, KY. He is also survived by his former wife, Judy Wieman of Elizabethtown, KY, the mother of his two sons; and many dear cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Pastor Shaun Caudill officiating.

Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.

Visitation begins at 11 a.m. on Thursday and continues until the time of service.
