Sally Marsalis was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother during her incredible 80 years of life. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 16, 2021. She was born on January 05, 1941, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Vernon Marsalis and Carmen Espinoza.
Sally was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma. Sally was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive mother. Her guidance was the foundation of her family. She was endlessly proud of her son, John, and was extremely grateful for everything he did for her. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Vada, getting her hair and nails done. Sally was the family’s biggest cheerleader in any activity that they were involved in, and could be found on the sidelines, in the stands, and or wherever her children and grandchildren needed her to be in their time of need. Sally also had a love for sports and music. She was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys and country singer, George Strait. She loved to bowl, go camping, and travel with her family.
Sally is survived by her loving son, John (Melissa), loving daughter, Vada. Grandchildren, Vanessa Marie, John Henry (Violet), and Justin Ryan. Great-grandchildren, Andrew J, Elliott Jordan, and Emily Rose. Brother, Steven Myers, and other very close family and friends.
Sally is now in peace, joining her mother, Carmen Hernandez, her brothers Vernon Marsalis, Albert Marsalis, and Juan Anthony Myers, and sister Velia Myers.
A special thank you to Kenia Mimbela for providing such loving care to our mother.
Visitation will be from 4-7 PM with a rosary at 6 PM, on Monday, August 23, 2021, at Crestview Funeral Home 1462 N. Zaragoza, El Paso, TX.

Don’t think we’re far apart
For every time you think of me
I’m right here in your heart”.
