Roberto Hernandez

A kind man, a gentle soul…truly godsend was Roberto Hernandez. On Thursday, May 29, Robert (age 74 years) entered Eternity, ending his three year battle with pancreatic cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Severa Hernandez, his siblings Santiago, Leonarda, Margarita, and Antonio, Jr. He is survived by three sisters: Antonia, Dolores, and Teresa. Also, nephews and nieces and many godchildren. The visitation will be held Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church (3021 Frutas) at 5 p.m. The Rosary service will be at 7 p.m. His Funeral Mass is Monday, June 2, 2014 at 9 a.m., followed by the interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bill Luellman, Pete Vasquez, Adrian Valencia, Javier Herrera, Charles Wagnon, Jeff Clouser, Laco Ugues, and Alfredo Mascorro. Honorary Pallbearers are Manuel Trejo, Juan Aguirre, nephew Carlos Hernandez, Armando Pompa, Chito Gonzalez, and Juan Nevarez, Jr. Special thanks are extended to Doctors Byron Chesbro and Jesus Hernandez, the medical staff at Grandview’s Cancer Center, and Sierra Hospital. The prayers and expressions of love from the following served as a pillar of strength for Robert and his sisters during his last years of life: caring neighbors and relatives, Guardian Angel Parish, Shiloh Baptist Church, TXDot family, and EPISD friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to El Paso’s Cancer Center and/or the Building Fund at Guardian Angel Church where Roberto served in various ministries with faith, love, and true commitment. Funeral services are being conducted by Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central.
