It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raul Sanchez, 77, of El Paso, Texas, on Dec. 8, 2024. He was born in El Paso, Texas on Sept. 14, 1947, and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1967. He enlisted in the US Armed Services later that year and served a tour of duty in Vietnam.
He was married to Teresa De La O on Oct. 30, 1971, then graduated from the University of Texas - El Paso in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Raul worked for the Texas Workforce Commission for 30 years and served as Operations Coordinator.
He had a passion for life and enjoyed traveling and visiting with his children, grandchildren and friends and was a proud Vietnam Veteran.
Raul will be greatly missed by those who knew him but especially his loving wife Teresa Sanchez, his children Ruby Sanchez and Raul Alfredo Sanchez, his adorable grandchildren Ryan Luera, Ashley Sanchez, and Aidan Sanchez, and his siblings Arturo Sanchez, Jose Sanchez, and Maria Elena Sanchez.
Viewing and rosary will be held at Martin Funeral Home (128 N Resler Dr, El Paso, TX 79912) on Dec. 23 at 6 PM. Mass for Raul will be held on Dec. 24 at Queen of Peace (1551 Belvidere St, El Paso, TX 79912) at 11:30 AM followed by burial at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raul Alfredo Sanchez, Ruby Sanchez, Arturo Sanchez, Jose Sanchez, Oscar De La O, and Ysidro De La O.
