Raquel Virginia “Virgie” Chacon passed away at the age of 78 on October 27, 2020. She was preceded in death by Manuel A. Chacon. Virgie is survived by her longtime companion Cruz Sanchez along with her nine children Rosemary Robles (Daniel), Manuel A. Chacon, Jr., Debbie Davis (Tim†), Diana Ruelas (Eddie), Yvonne Sanchez (Victor), Richard Chacon, Elizabeth Armendariz (Ralph), Celia Saldivar (Armando), Martin Chacon (Terry), 31 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, sisters Celia R. Segura and Josefina “Chickie” Ortiz along with many nieces and nephews. Virgie was born in El Paso, Texas on November 3, 1941 to Jose P. and Petra O. Ramos. After giving birth to her first daughter Rosemary at the young age of 16, she was taught the discipline of hard work and what is means in life to count your blessings. As time carried on, she would then teach those same principles to all her children and children’s children. Virgie lived her life to the fullest by spending time with Cruz and her family. It was at those times of special gatherings where her love shined the most. She always kept in touch with her family to see how everyone was doing and would always be the first to call and wish you a happy birthday filled with blessings. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. We just want to say we love you and until we meet again, we hold the moments we shared with you dear to our hearts and are forever grateful to have called you our mom, grandma and granny.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk besides us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed and very dear.”
