Ramona T. Prieto, “Monchie”, of El Paso, Texas, was born on April 25, 1935 (age 87). Beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away with her loving family by her side on February 23, 2023. She was born in Fabens, Texas to Jose Trujillo and Francisca Trujillo.
Monchie was a kind, loving, remarkable and strong woman. Her heart was full of love and life. When she smiled she would light up the room. She absolutely loved sports. Her favorite sports to watch included tennis, basketball, and football. She enjoyed the outdoors and spent the majority of her time gardening and keeping up with her pool. She loved the warm sunny days tending to her plants and flowers. She was a woman who did anything and everything for her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She was so creative and intelligent. You could give her anything and she would fix it the MacGyver way. She was passionate about learning and discovering new ways to do things. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 57 years, Beda O. Prieto; son Beda Prieto Jr. and wife Cynthia Prieto, daughter Deborah Prieto, son Sergio Prieto and wife Bertha Prieto, and daughter Belinda Prieto; four grandchildren, Monique Prieto, Mark Vasquez, Michael Prieto and wife Lilliana Prieto, and Beda Prieto III; three great grandchildren, Liam Vasquez, Matthew Prieto and Leland Vasquez; and brother Alfonso Trujillo.
Monchie was preceded by her parents, Jose Trujillo and Francisca Trujillo; her siblings, brother Adolfo Trujillo, sister Hortencia Ortega, brother Mario Trujillo, and brother Reynaldo Trujillo.
