Octavio Emilio Castañeda Sr., was born on December 4, 1928 in Rio Grande City, Texas and passed away on August 10, 2021 in El Paso, Texas. In his early twenties, Mr. Castañeda Sr. served in the U S Army as a Counter Intelligence Agent Officer. He attended the University of Texas at Austin graduating from Pharmacy School having been a pharmacist for 65 years. In addition to his love of horses, Mr. Castañeda Sr. loved his family always putting them first. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years Alicia Arredondo Castañeda; parents, Octavio Castañeda and Rosalia Salmon of Rio Grande City, Texas; daughter, Cecilia McNutt; grandson, Jesse Crawford Castañeda; siblings, Ernesto Castañeda, Francis Castañeda and Lamar Castañeda. He is survived by his children; Yvonne Young, Vickie Loessel, Octavio Emilio Castañeda Jr., M. Daniel Castañeda, Selina Castañeda and Erica Cristina Castañeda. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and siblings, Gloria Garcia, Olga Provencio and Hector Castañeda; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He will be dearly missed by all.
