Mary proudly served in the military, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and deeply supported military veterans and breast cancer research. She was an avid traveler, active in her community, and dearly loved by family and friends. Her devotion to her faith and family were exemplary.
Mary is survived by the love of her life - her husband of 45 years Robert J. Clapper I, son Robert J. Clapper II (wife Michelle Clapper), son Nicholas D. Clapper, and grandchildren Brandon Clapper, Robert J. Clapper III, Nikayla D. Clapper, Justice Clapper, and Jhayce Clapper.
Brothers Jesus Alaniz, Jose Alaniz (wife Lucinda Alaniz), Celso Michel (wife Maria Michel) Epigmenio Michel Jr. (wife Naomi Michel), Juan Michel, and Fidel Aguirre (wife Graciela Aguirre). Sisters Maria Contreras (husband Jose Contreras), Beatriz Michel (husband Brooks Gentle), and many nieces and nephews.
Brothers-in-law Mark Clapper (wife Teresa Clapper), Edward A. Clapper, and Peter A. Clapper (partner Tom Stubblefield). Sisters-in-law Sally Niks (husband Al Niks), LouAnn Clapper (partner Dot Hamilton), and Bonnie Mullett. Nieces Vicki Sorrentino, and Tammy Best.
She was preceded in death by parents Epigmenio and Isidora Michel, sisters Carmen Alaniz, Marcelina Alaniz, brother Pete Michel, nephew Jesse James Alaniz, sister-in-law Donna Best, and brother-in-law William Mullett.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Alive Fellowship Church, 5505 Will Ruth Avenue, El Paso, Texas. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. (Visitation and Prayer Service were held November 7, 2023 at Funeraria Del Angel Restlawn)
