Maria De la Luz Palma, a beloved grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at the age of 92, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, unwavering strength, and unconditional love.
Born on August 21, 1931, in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico, Maria De La Luz lived a life rich with experiences and touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was one of 7 children of Arturo Vega and Josefina De la O, living in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico, where she developed a deep connection to her faith, family, and community.
Maria De la Luz was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She married the love of her life, Jose Palma, and together they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and memories. Their union was blessed with six children, each of whom brought unique joy and purpose to her life: Aurelio Palma, Luz Elena Jasso, Maria Elizabeth Palma-Ramirez, Arturo Palma, Jose Palma, and Jorge Palma. In addition to her six children, she is survived by 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Family and faith was at the center of Maria De la Luz Palma's world, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to the well-being of her loved ones. Her home was a haven of warmth and hospitality, where delicious aromas and the sound of laughter greeted all who entered.
Beyond her role as a loving matriarch, Maria De la Luz was a pillar of strength for her family, offering guidance, support, and unconditional love. Her giving spirit inspired those around her, creating a lasting impact on the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service to honor Maria De la Luz Palma's life will be held on Tuesday, December 19th, 4 PM to 8 PM, at Crestview Funeral Home at 1462 N. Zaragoza, El Paso, Texas. Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 20th, at 9:30 AM, at the Corpus Christi Church, 9502 North Loop, El Paso, Texas, followed by graveside service at Evergreen East Cemetery at 12400 East Montana, El Paso, Texas.
