BMCM Manuel Lin USN Retired - A Career Navy Man, an intriguing person, a great husband, brother, Uncle, friend and father. He was a man who held a stately carriage that bordered on regal, but had an easy smile and he always remembered who you were. While one does not normally think of a Navy Man in this fashion, he was, surprisingly, incredibly easy going, and was always willing to give many kind words and advice. His philosophy in life was “I came, I saw, and I learned from you.” He served our great nation in times of peril and peace. He was befriended and respected by his fellow sailors and Admirals “alike”. A great family man, he always held perfection of character in high regard not only for himself but for all in the family. His family was large, consisted not only of his immediate family but his network of friends. He is survived by his sisters, Alicia and Josephina, Nieces and Nephews; Eva, Ceci, Carlos, Rudy, Greg, Anthony, Roman, Isaac, Laura, and Charlie; His sons Masayoshi and Mike and Very close friends Joseph, Albert, Orlando, and Natalio. His sphere of influence was more than grand and wished the best for each and every one of you, every day. You were not only his friend or an acquaintance but always significant in his life. As his spirit sets sail to join our Eternal Father, “God speed and fair winds, Master Chief Lin!” Visitation will be Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Martin Central with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 6, 2014 at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
