Uncle Breezy, when I hear your name it makes my heart smile.  When I was younger and would vacation in El Paso I couldn't wait to see you.  You were always filled with stories, and remember whens.  I remember listening and the WOWS that would pass through my head.  You had such a powerful way of speaking and your encouraging and supportive words molded lives more than you were ever told.  Uncle you're an angel now, whole and well, reunited with all of the loved ones before you.  You will be missed on earth, spiritually I know you walk with us everyday.  Spread those beautiful new wings and soar.  I will love and miss you until we meet again.

Mr. D as we knew him at the Boys' Club circa 1958 to 1964, had a tremendous impact on an entire generation of young people in our barrio. His booming voice, articulate manner of speaking and humor were trademarks I will never forget. After we honored him with a dinner in July 1998 at Julio's restaurant, we made a call to action to really honor Mr. D. Thus, we decided to form the Boys and Girls Clubs of El Paso Allumni Association (BGCEPAA). We organized and formally got recognized in 2000. As president of the BGCEPAA, I lead a core group of former Club members in conducting a golf tournament once a year in October. This year will be our 15th! We have provided about $80,0000 in scholarships to deserving youths and have given a like amount to the Clubs for equipment and supplies over the years - - this is all due to our wanting to honor Mr. D with something that he would be proud of. Mr D played a huge part in my life when I was growing up. I grew up in the Barrio del Diablo where there were many positive and negative influences.  The big positives came from the Boy's Club Unit II of which Mr D was the Director.  He would always encourage me to think big during my very early teenage years of my life.  It is because of him that I entered the Boy of the Year contest and was later named Regional Boy of the Year in 1966.  He had a huge positive influence on me during those years.  I will never forget him.  May he rest in peace.

Grandpa, thank you for all your support and boooos !!!!!! Tell grandma I said hi. You will be missed. LOVE your grandson. Still hitting triples for you!

Mr. D, Your presence on our earth was most valuable to a significant number of kids and our families associated with the El Paso Boys' Club back in the 50s and 60s. Your existence will be missed but will continue to be fondly remembered by a whole lot of us.  Your contribution to the lives of so many of us will be treasured forever.  My sincere sympathetic condolences are extended to your family.

Our deepest condolences on the loss of your father.  We knew Mr. D from his years playing with the 40-60 baseball club.  He was a great man.  Prayers to all his family.  Flores, Sandoval, Madrid families.

A good man who lived a good full life.  Go with God and rest in peace.

I will always remember Uncle Breezy in my thoughts and prayers. He was a man of wisdom and a person with a kind heart. May he be comforted in God's grace. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time.

What I remember most of uncle Boo was the power in which he spoke. I vividly remember his resonance when delivering a speech. Uncle and Aunt Gwen were always so loving to us and my mom. My family and I send our love and condolences the families of our great Uncle. We love you.

Uncle Breezy, Where do I start to encompass how you blessed my life. You were my summertime dad for so many years. Each year looking forward to summer vacation anxious to be part of the Uncle Breezy, Aunt Gwen family.  My cousins were like my siblings and the love I received when I was enjoying my summers, was no different...I was one of the kids. Something I desperately needed. Memories that I will forever cherish.  I love you and will miss your words of empowerment, but know that your love for mankind has been passed down to many of us. See you in the funny papers Uncle, as Dad would say.

Mac, on behalf of the Esparza family, Thank you for being such a good neighbor and counselor. A giving and happy go lucky friend when we were kids. You took us camping and fishing and introduced us to the scouts and of course the boys club. We play touch football on the street, you were always the quarterback, many memories of those times,  that was fun. We will miss you Mac, but we know you are now at peace. God Bless you and your family.

Uncle, I know that I am a better person because you were in my life. When I look back at the times you and I spent with each other I am saddened that there are not more moments, but make no mistake the moments we shared are important to me and have shaped me in a way that you probably never knew. "You can do it," those are the words you always told me when I talked to you about my aspirations, when I was young. You made me believe I could do it. Thank you for your wisdom and loving demeanor. You will always be a part of me, uncle boo!!!! My sympathies to those of us left with out your presence here on earth but I hold tight to my faith that we will meet again one day in Heaven.
