Luz is survived by her husband, Zenaido Gardea; their children Luz Maria Maldonado; Margarita Guadalupe Ponce; Rosa Maria Montelongo; Francisco Javier Gardea; Ana Maria Benitez; and Hugo Antonio Gardea; her brother Pedro Alejandro Muñoz; 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Luz was preceded in death by her daughter Maria Elena Reyna; her brother 1; her sisters 2.
She immigrated to the United States from Mexico in 1956 with her husband and later obtained her citizenship. She raised seven children lovingly with her strong Catholic faith in God. She was a homemaker, catechist, seamstress, cook, baker, formation teacher in the Secular Franciscan Order and shared her many gifts to help those in need. Her family and friends will miss her tremendously. She was a great woman, very spiritual, hard-working and humble; always devoted to her husband, family, and anyone she touched with her life.
Proverbios 31
