Luz "Lucy" Flores was remembered by her Maker on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, after her struggle with bladder cancer. Born on December 5, 1936 to Francisco Flores and Isabel Aragon Flores in White Spur (west El Paso), Texas. Lucy was raised amongst her eight brothers and sisters and extended family members. She is survived by her children, Sandra Flores (Andy), Frank Flores (Bernice), two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Adam Flores, her brother, Ricardo Flores, and sisters Maria de Jesus (Chita) Villalobos, Carmen Manucy, Mary Flores and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Roman Flores and Juan Flores, and her sisters, Esperanza Villa and Teresa Flores.
Lucy was blessed with a good life full of love from all those around her, especially her children, grandchildren and family from whom she received the greatest joy and they from her. She enjoyed being in the company of family, good friend and good music and watching classic movies. She retired as a baker from the El Paso Independent School District after 30 years. Her sugar cookies will be remembered and missed by many.
Her belief in God was strong and never wavered through uncertainty. She accepted her illness and pain with the understanding that He was in control and would not be let down.
