Franklin Hunt, known to family & friends as Lou, was raised in Independence, PA. After graduating from W&J College he entered the US Army serving a distinguished 20 year career as an Army aviator and achieved the designation of Master Aviator. Lou served two tours in Vietnam where he flew both the Huey & CH-54 Skycrane helicopters. During one of the tours he was privileged to be Gen. Westmoreland’s pilot along with many dignitaries & celebrities. Some of his many duty stations included Bamberg Germany, Homestead AFB, Ft Rucker, Ft Sill, also serving as the Liaison Officer to Crete and his favorite assignment, Ft Bliss, TX where he retired. Lou made many life long friends during his military career which he stayed in contact with over the years. After his military retirement, Lou spent the next 40 years as a highly successful real estate broker & investor. In addition, Lou was a very skilled woodworker and spent most of his time in his shop building cabinets and smaller items that he gifted to friends and family. All that took a backseat once football season began where he remained a devoted Dallas Cowboy fan.
Lou was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn (Kubacka), beloved grandson Andy Hunt (Crystal). He is survived by his wife, Suzan Spurlin Hunt, his children, David Hunt (Toni), Mark Hunt (Irene), Connie Hunt, Robert Hunt and his step-sons Kevin Stringham (Norma) and Brendon Stringham (Mary). He also leaves his grandchildren, Phylicia Halliday(Austin), Sara Clark(Jared), Austin Hunt(Monica), Lyla Hunt, Ana-Jade Hunt & Melena Hunt. His loving great-grandchildren include Rowan, Liam, Soren(Halliday), Rian, Kyler, Parker, Ryder & Emersyn (Clark) and Loreli & Anson(Hunt) He will be deeply missed by all.
