Julie was born on June 16, 1945, to Albert and Edith Duncan in El Paso, Texas. After graduating from Burges High School in 1963, she went on to study at Texas Western College of the University of Texas (now UTEP) and then went on to a long career in sales.
Above all, Julie was a loving and supportive mother who raised a son as a single mother. Through good times and bad, she always provided a loving, safe, and wonderful home. Her support and guidance were invaluable and will never be forgotten.
Anyone who knew Julie, knew that she was kind, loving, caring and could carry on a conversation with anyone for hours. She had the ability to connect with people and was the kind of person to give the shirt off her back to a stranger in need. Her compassion and caring for others was endless and it touched her deeply to see anyone suffer. Throughout her life she supported children’s organizations, veteran’s groups, and various native American charities to name a few. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions in memory of Julie to your favorite organization in need.
Julie had an immense passion for the outdoors, and arts and crafts. She loved painting with her sister, weaving, pottery, and making flower arrangements with her nephew. Up until her last days, she loved tending to her backyard and various gardens. She often showed her granddaughters how to plant seeds and care for a garden. Together they grew gigantic sunflowers that were amazing and unforgettable.
She is loved immensely and will be missed more than words can say.
Julie was predeceased by her parents, Albert & Edith Duncan. She is survived by her son Mark Duncan and his wife Michelle; her two granddaughters, Sarah & Christina Duncan; her sister, Darlene Lowther; and two nephews Jeff & Brandt Lowther.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.MartinFuneralHomeWest.com for the Duncan family.
