Born on Easter, April 18, 1954, Janet Marie Lampkins was a force of nature from day one. Her fervent spirit and warm and nurturing nature touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those privileged to know her.
Janet’s unwavering commitment to helping others led her to become a prominent leader in the El Paso community. She tirelessly volunteered her time, energy, and talents to helping others and served on boards of several local nonprofits and community organizations.
Janet’s sharp intellect and determined work ethic propelled her to become a well-respected and widely celebrated leader in the insurance industry. Her career spanned over five decades during which Janet achieved numerous milestones and served as trusted advisor and business partner to hundreds of clients.
Beyond her professional achievements and community engagement, Janet was a beloved mentor, and cherished friend to so many. She was funny and genuine. No matter how busy she was, she always made time if someone needed advice, a shoulder to cry on, or a stiff drink.
Above all, Janet loved her family. She dedicated her life to providing unwavering support, guidance, and unconditional love. Her home was a sanctuary filled with laughter, where she instilled values of compassion, integrity, and resilience. Whether it was through a comforting embrace, guidance, or words of encouragement, Janet was the epitome of maternal love.
Janet will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all. She is survived by her mother, Esther Harris, brother, Charles David Lampkins (Terri), her sister in-law, Kady Denton (Jim – deceased), her three children, Vanessa, Nicolas and Jenna Aguilar (Briana), and her husband Gene Weigel.
A celebration of Janet’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home (5054 Doniphan Drive, El Paso, TX 79932). A mass will be held at Saint Joseph’s Church (3729 Hueco Avenue, El Paso, TX 79903) at 10:00 am on March 14, 2024.
