Gilbert Peña

A beautiful soul who blessed our lives for 76 years has been called home by our Lord. Gilberto Peña, born March 4, 1947, in El Paso, Texas passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on November 26, 2023. Gilbert was a man of faith and honor who lived true to his word.

Gilbert is survived by his wife Martha M. Peña, sisters Susan and Sandra Enriquez (Danny), and brothers Tom Peña, Michael Peña (Pinky), Phillip Peña, Steven Peña (Rosalinda), nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.

We are grateful for the attentive care and family support from Gilbert's healthcare team: Dr. Muneer Assi, Julie Zuniga N.P., Grandview Home Health and Grandview Hospice.

A visitation for Gilbert Peña will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home (1060 N. Carolina Dr. El Paso, TX 79915). Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 11,2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Raphael's Catholic Church (2301 Zanzibar Rd., El Paso, TX. 79925) officiated by Fr. Pablo Matta. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery (401 Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, TX. 79907).

Pallbearers will be Serina Abrou, Catherine Falcon, Michael Peña, Nicholas Peña, Steven Peña, Zach Peña, Thomas Castañeda, Lee Nadler. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Peña, Phillip Peña, Eddie Castañeda, Ben Muro, Benjamin Muro, Manny Lopez, Keith Hamilton, Ryan Phalen
