Mr. Grijalva,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Cold War. Millions of Americans slept safe at night because you and your fellow Servicemen and women stood ready to defend our Countty. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Uncle Gilbert, there arent enough words in the world to explain my heartache.  You were an amazing person that was taken too soon. People would say that you would have made a great father but they are wrong, you were my father.  You taught me everything from riding a bike, rollerskating, swimming, fishing, camping and everything in between.  I will forever treasure everything you did for me because you never had to but always showed me the love I needed. I will keep my promise to watch over my Nina until the day she joins you. I will forever miss your smile and laughter.  Thank you for all of the amazing memories. You had the most positive impact on many, many lives to include those of my kids. I will always love you to the moon and back!!!

Uncle Gilbert, there aren't enough words in this world to express my heartache.  You were one of the greatest men to have walked into my life.  People used to say how you would have made a great father, but they are wrong.  you were my father.  You taught everything from riding a bike, rollerskating, fishing, swimming, camping and everything else in between. You taught me the classics from Bonanza, Mr. Ed and even Godzilla.  I appreciate EVERYTHING you have done for me and my kids and I will keep my promise to watch over Nina until she is reunited with you, the love of her life.  I will miss you everyday of my life.  I love you to the moon and back!

Uncle Gilbert will be missed deeply especially on family get togethers and BBQ's.  You can always count on him to make your ribs hurt from him making us laugh throughout the night.  Uncle Gilbert reminds me so much of my dad; he could talk to anyone and always had something amusing to say. 
But now my uncle is not suffering anymore and is resting in peace with Tata and his brother in the great lakes in the sky.  As we say goodbye to my uncle, my heart hurts once again as Nancy and I watched my uncle's last breath and my Aunt Terry crying as she loses her best friend and partner in life. 
We all need to be family strong to get passed this and need to better ourselves as people and give out a helping hand to those in need, for we won't have to mourn our loved ones so early
You will be missed but never forgotten

I'm so glad my daughter got to meet you and see how wonderful you were just like I did. may you rest in heaven with tata and uncle mark. I love you & will miss you so very much!

Gilbert was very much a brother to me rather than a cousin. Gilbert was always a kidder, even when he got mad it would be short lived and would end with that crooked smile or his deep and big laughter. Our last visit together we laughed and cried and joked around.  This is how I will remember you. Rest in peace my wonderful cousin.

My dearest cousin Gilbert. You always shined when you were around us. Your smile and sence of humor will be missed. You will never be forgotten, you will always be in my heart. Love you always, cousin Sylvia Grijalva
