Fernando Martinez

Our beloved father and grandfather, Fernando V. Martinez went home to our Lord peacefully on Saturday June 13, 2020. He had a courageous fight in the hospital and was finally released to be at home Friday evening with his family.

Fernando was born on September 25, 1936 in the town of Santa Rosalia Carmargo, Mexico. He worked at Artcraft Industrial for 43 years as a tile specialist. He was very proud of his work throughout the New Mexico and Texas region working in hospitals, government buildings, schools, and churches. He was happily married to Maria J. Martinez for 58 years and enjoyed spending time with all his family. He loved music and sang with his brothers throughout his life up until his last breath. His favorite type of music was Trios. He would always honor our birthdays with the Mañanitas, which will be dearly missed by all.

Preceded in death by his parents Florencio Martinez, Maria Luisa V. Martinez, and his brothers and sister, Mauricio Martinez, Juanita Mora, Felix Martinez, Otilio Martinez, Roberto Martinez, Guillermo Martinez, and Enrique Martinez. Survived by his wife, Maria De Jesus Martinez and his brother, Florencio Martinez Jr., his Children, Fernando Martinez and his wife Christina Martinez, David Martinez and his wife Sandra Martinez, Yolanda Martinez and her husband Martin Martinez, Irene Arzola and her husband Isaac Arzola, and Alice Martinez. His grandchildren, Sara Beatriz Arzola, David Jeremy Flores, Deirdre Sandate, Cynthia Lexy Martinez, Mark Anthony Martinez, Crystal Marie Mena, Cecilia Nicole Martinez, Fernando Isaias Martinez III, Aaron Javier Martinez, Maribel Martinez, David Martinez Jr., Adam Montañez, Jesus Montañez, Reyna De la Cruz and twenty great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Fernando Martinez, David Martinez, Isaac Arzola, Martin Martinez, David J. Flores, Fernando I. Martinez, Crystal M. Mena, David Martinez Jr., Gilbert Martinez, Adam Montañez, Alfredo Martinez, Aaron J. Martinez, Mark A. Martinez, Florencio Martinez III, Hector Martinez, and Javier Martinez.

Family and Friends are invited to join us to attend the Funeral Services on Thursday June 18, 2020. Viewing is from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Rosary will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. On Friday June 19, 2020 Mass will be held at 11:30am – 12:30 p.m., leaving at 1:00 p.m. to Restlawn Cemetery, 8700 Dyer.
