I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Gene. I remember fondly how he inspired my students when he was my career day speaker 27 years ago. Although we lost touch for many years, reconnecting at the gym recently was a blessing and I will always cherish those conversations. My heartfelt condolences go out to your family during this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to your fiancé and beautiful family.  May God wrap his arms around  you all during this very difficult time. I went to high school with Gene. He was so kind and humble. He just wanted to play ball. I don't think he ever realized how popular he was. I was blessed to know him.  Rest in peace my friend.

I played baseball against Gene in high school. Always had a ton of respect for his talent. He was an absolute stud on the mound. Incredible pitcher and competitor.

My condolences to the Forti family.  Gene was a very good friend during our high school years.  I will always remember his goofiness, kindness and athleticism.  I will never forget having Gene for Spanish classes and him asking me, "Diane, how do you say this in Spanish?" I would tell him and then he would repeat it shyly...lol.
I will never forget what an AWESOME basketball and baseball player he was! He was a true athlete! And lastly, I will never forget the kind, sweet, and loyal friend he was. I will forever cherish our friendship!

Our condolences to the Forti family from the Cruz estrada family. Remembering  Gene as the star baseball player on big red baseball team. He was an awesome pitcher  who struck out many.  May the Forti family  keep his memories forever. Rest in peace Big Geno.

My deepest condolences. Prayers to Gene’s family in this very difficult time. He was the pride and joy of Del Valle HS baseball. Someone that to this day we talk about in a positive way. Gene was kind to all and always lit up a room/field!!! You will be missed brother but your impact will forever live on! Rest easy.

My most sincere condolences to Geno's family, I was bless to worked with Geno, he had the most amazing heart, a gentle giant like I used to call him. A humble and caring friend, we kept in touch even after he left the office where we worked together. He was part of our Comadres and Compadres NFL chat group on WhatsApp, where we bullied each other when our teams lost. We had some much fun together; I am going to miss him so much.

Geno was a delight to work with. When he was working night he would help take care of the yard dog who I ended up adopting. 
My heart breaks for your family.
